Autism treatments - Our Mission

At Definition Diverse, our mission is to disseminate evidence-based approaches, including the PEERS® Program and Positive Psychology Coaching. Our focus is upon improving the future for individuals with a diagnosis of autism.

We advocate the use of proven treatments and approaches. Also, we advocate for the development of innovative pathways. Working at systemic levels including family, educational, work and societal systems is key to create change.

Our goals are upon building strengths and scaffolding self-determinism. We also celebrate neurodiversity. Enhancing authentic inclusion and co-create meaningful lives for individuals and their families is also a focus.

However we believe we cannot ignore or dismiss the real problems or issues that people experience. The considerable degree of heterogeneity in traits and functional ability in people with a diagnosis of autism needs to be a priority. This wide variation precludes a one-size-fits-all approach. Also structuring services and facilitating environmental adaptations needs to be tailored to the individual. Importantly, adaptions need to occur across all settings.

WHO WE ARE

Definition Diverse - innovation in autism treatments

We strive to be an innovative organisation, dedicated to enhancing positive outcomes for individuals with a diagnosis of autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions.

Our organisation supports individuals and their families/carers to engage in a life of meaning and purpose. Also, we believe adopting a systemic approach in domains such as sociocultural, educational and workplace is necessary for sustainable change.

Also, our work involves engagement with international experts.  This allows us to bring evidence-based trainings and expand autism treatments and novel approaches.

Our services include consultations, group and individual programs.

The work we do also includes exploration of  practice-based research. Collaborative approaches in translational research is critical. This type of  research needs to involve individuals, families, as well as medical / health professionals, educators, researchers, and industry workers.

Lastly, at Definition Diverse we provide pro bono support on a discretionary basis.
